Grand Vitara steel housing in a Vitara

I have searched, but nothing.

I have a empty, front, steel housing coming and I need to know for sure if all my vitara parts will fit straight in and on the housing. (Bearings, axles, seals, Calmini drop brackets)

Has anyone else done this yet?

How easy is it?

What extra stuff would I need?

Cheers

Yes, it swaps straight over and is easy to do. I'd replace the seals as they can be prone to leaks in the GV as the shafts are turning all the time so they have had more wear.

Good stuff, that is what I thought.

I will be using all my Vitara parts so I hope I wont have to worry about the leaks.

I might try and take some pics and do a bit for the bible :?

I did it on the weekend, didnt have much time so no pics but it is just a straight bolt in

A few hours work and it was done.

Only real difference was the bracket bolts, the GV housing has 4 bolts on the drivers side and 3 on the passengers side and the Alloy one has 3 on the Drivers side and 4 on the passengers side, But everything still lines up

Thanks mate, After I posted here, I think I have found the steel housing with an ARB locker installed, so I think I'll find out soon enough. Amazing what you stumble on on thes forums :) The stuff on the mounts was useful info
