Old "Bessie" didn't cut the mustard

We just got back from a 4 week trek from Bris to Bundy, across to Alice via Longreach and Boulia and the Plenty Highway Where the old 2.5TDI NH died in the arse! a 900kg trailer and 50 degree heat didn't agree with her, she boiled dry on about 6 occassions from massive overheating. Along with the worst most neglected outback highway I have driven (and I've driven a few). Corrugations 200mm deep in parts. So the rear axle developed a large crack and I lost all the diff oil and subsequent heat damage to crown & pinion. She wouldb't make the rest of the trip which was to Coober Pedy, Adelaide, Berri, Echuca, Snowy's, Wadbilliga NP, And up the NSW Coast to home. So we sold her to the locals for $4,500 and bought a new Patrol which wasn't sposed to happen until June. So I am now a Nissan driver which I don't mind and I still love the Paj's. Thanks to all who gave good advice on these pages and I may see some of yas in the Nissan pages! Might post some trip pics soon Creek crossings etc.
