Common fault.
Some say it's a sign of the box on it's way out.
Personally, I've seen more than I could count (even wiff me shoos off) continue like this well past the 1/2 million mile mark. Even seen several with a permanent ocky strap to latch onto the stick and hold into gear.
Never personally heard of one letting go due to this problem.
Also read of the problem being fixed by replacing the nylon bush on the end of the stick (cost = coupla $, fifteen minute job including the stubbie). Didn't fix mine, but made it drop-out a lot less often.
FWIW I drive a 62 as I solo-hunt & camp for months at a time in very remote locations and can't go past their heavy-duty reliability and ease of bush-repair.
Never ever worry about that fifth gear sticking me up somewhere though. I'd spend the money on extra spare tyres before fixing the box.
