Outer Limits 4x4 Board

so, my company hilux has Cooper ST's on it. they've developed a wear pattern that i've tried to show in the pic.



the yellow dots on the tread indicate the blocks that are several mm higher than the surrounding blocks. i believe this is cause cause of inflation problems, but i'm wondering how i can fix it?

should i just pump it up to 50psi, put it onto the vitara, and sit there spinning it till it wears down

seriously, it shakes the crap outta the car the way it is, so need to sort something out, otherwise i'll just have to get work to try an get another one (not easy as we've gone to bridgestones now)

What size tyre and rim are they?
I'm running the same tyres but i havn't done much driving on them.
I've noticed that the lugs on the edges are starting to tear off mine.

i think they're a 225/75R16, they're mounted on the stocko split rims that come on hilux's

Heel, toe wear, sometimes a common wear pattern on blocks, just rotate front to rear every oil change.

How old are your ST as some of the 16 inch sizes were a recall item..... if you google or search this site should be able to find more info...

i had this same problem with st coopers and my hilux, in the end i was rotating front to rear every 5000 klms and it was keeping the wear even, just one more problem with ifs set up

That would be my guess. I had 31x10.5" S/Ts on my Paj for 30k km, rotating at 10k km intervals, and never had a wear problem. Still about 70% when I sold them. It's not simply "IFS".

If your tearing teh side lugs off it's a problem with tyre pressure when off roading.

My old pair had heaps of side lugs missing, was told when I got my new set at fourby's what pressure to run where and haven't had the problem since.

Also had a set of tyres replaced under warrenty due to the recall. the recall letter didn't arrive until the day after I left on a 3 month 18,000km trip. Rang Fourby's on return and was told what the recall was for and swapped my tyres with around 20,000km's on them for brand new ones
I crossed 5 deserts and travelled cl;ose to 20K km's on recalled tyres and never even got a flat. I have no problems buying coopers again.

well the ute normally gets a balance and alignment every 10 thousand when serviced, but i doubt they're rotating the things, cause they never do anything extra unless ya ask them too.

meh, i think i'll give my burnout idea a try over the weekend to try and even it up , then get them rotated every service
