Outer Limits 4x4 Board

my mate just got a 4 runner, 90 2.4l petty.
i was just wondering if anyone knew about any cheap easy ways to get a lil more balls out of it, i realize its not a powerhouse but until i fully convince him to do a v8 conversion it will have to do.
