Thats funny, I wasn't happy with my GQ until it somewhat resembled an 80... chopped the heck out of it. :)

any, either, all. im a big fan of shorties, and the midi catches my eye regularly, then the ute is a plus in terms of day to day practicality for me...

I would definetly recomend a Mid Wheel Base Toyota Land Cruiser. Preferably a BJ 13BT.

Thats what i have and it goes pretty good. If you waana take the family on holiday with it its probably not gonna suit you. I took the back seats out and put in a cargo barrier behind the front seats. In the back I put in a 24v dual bat system cause it a Jap import that runs 24v as the starter(Redarc). Its cool. Enough to run the engel for days. Over 200AH.
Off the dual batt I'm running a dc converter for other 12v acc. I put a switch on it that I can turn on and off cause the converter draws some amps and a dont wanna run the batts flat when i'm not using the car. Its basically got two truck batts in the rear. I put in a shelf over
the batteries that I can put gear above and below. The engel is on top so you gotta jump up on the tail gate to get stuff out of it but it stops you opening it all the time and losing your cool.

The 4by is pretty stock apart from a 2" lift and running 33"x 12.5" X 15" Cooper muddies. Its got a new paint job (Gun Metal Grey) that I have scratched the @#$!# out of. Who cares its a 4x4. Cause its a Jap import its got a PTO winch which is pretty cool. Does the job well. IPF (round) pair of driving lights. Kick @#$@! looking bull bar. I put an ARB compressor under the front so I can deflate for the beach. Next is a glind or similar hot water service. I think beach camping will be quite civillised after that.

Been looking at SOA and that but I'd probably flip it the freeway corners.
Seriously considering a U-Bolt Flip tho, might get an extra inch or so.

To other Midi owners, " How Have You Pimped Your Ride :"

ThanKs for reading if you did!!
