Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a shudder and noise (not unlike cardboard flicking in a push bike rim) when I corner hard right. At first I thought it might be side luggs hitting the leaf spring (it is on a 60 series) but no marks on the springs or tyres. Then I noticed tonight that the noise and vibration seemed to travel the length of the car starting just to the right of centre at the front of the car and finishing at the left rear. If you don't corner hard, no noise. It also seens connected with body roll as smooth full lock turns are ok (ie no noise vibration).

Any ideas???

It may be worth looking at a couple of things. You might need to look at your brakes drums (Im guessing there drum being a 60, not sure??) or discs. They may be distorted. You might also need to look at your uni joints. Check all your shackle bushes also. Have a good look and let us all know whats good and whats not.

From the way you're describing the sound it definately sounds like the tyre tread is touching something. Cornering hard right means the body is rolling to the left so its possible the tyre is contacting something on the left front (even though you reckon the noise sounds more on the right). In any case I'd be looking for tyre rub marks on the inner guards/mudflaps/anything near the tyre on both sides.

After going for a drive put your hand on the centre of the wheels and see if the yare overly hot.
