suspension advice

Was after peoples opinions on suspension set ups. About to do a solid axle swap on an 86 navara, leaf sprung at the back, looking at entering some comps, so need a suspension set up that would have decent flex but also handle winching, i've been looking at fox and swayaway but they're pretty pricey, there's an aust company called ausshock that seem ok that sell coilovers, but then i could just use standard coils and shocks.

2 major points, would be keeping it road legal, and would like to keep it at a reasonable price, around $500 a corner would be about my limit.

I'll be doing the front first (still have to look at steering aswell) and when funds permit will do the rear...

thanks

bit more info?
what diff will you be running etc chassis width at front etc
if your rails are too wide it will be hard to fit the coils outside the chassis rails
so either you run short springs under the rails or coilovers outside the rails

IS the $500 a cnr a fitted price or doing it your self, and then is that + engineers, etc.

$ 500 a cnr sounds like B/L , guard chop and a set of treads type deal.

Sounds like it might be easier and cheaper to buy a different truck for comps, you wont be able to make a navara competative with a 2k budget.
Pick up a cheap early lux and go from there. Way less grief in the longrun.

cooter... will be using an MQ front diff as it's the same ratio as rear and length, some people have said to use GQ diff but they're wider. Will have to check about mounting points, i've been talking to vsicks from melb, he has done it to a pathfinder.

pongo... $500 a corner is just for suspension, engineers price and all the other prices i will get to when i get to that stage, I would like to have it done by next rego which is october, so plenty of time...hopefully

teambullet... the $2000 budget is just for suspension, and i'm keen on my navara, everyone else has hilux's and patrols. thanks anyway
