Hi there fellow 4wd ers, might be pushing the rule book here but here goes anyway, noticed some winches turn up up at a local auction centre here on the Gold Coast, today i was down at the local tip shop Harper St Molendinar nosying around and noticed a hole heap of brand new winches still in their boxes ranging from 8000lb to 12000 lb. Asked the story and was told that their boss had bought a truck load of them that they were basically a TJM, manufactured at the TJM factory however i forget what name was actually stamped on them, anyway they sent some to the auctions for quick return and now are selling them from their tip shop and some other destinations. 8000lb electric $500 to 12000lb hydrolic $950. Hope this thread remains as i have no gain from it and seems like a great oppertunity for anyone to pick up a cheap winch.

RN is always around and has most likley read this already. What I'm wondering is why he hasn't moved this to General 4x4 Tech/Discussion :D :D

Yes it was a T-max dealer that put in up on the forums from memory.

I never did hear anymore about it whether they caught the blokes who knocked them off so maybe it's the same guys who thought they'd leave it a while for the heat to cool down a bit before selling them cheap.

Just one of my conspiracy theories though.

Cheers Mick.

Thats the one mate. I new they where T-Max winches and i remember them saying they hadn't been released at the time of the robbery.

T-max and TJM could be easily confused though and they are 12,000 pound winches so i'd say there might be a connection. My conspiracy theory might be true after all. :P

Cheers Mick.
