Hi all,
What options exist out there for keeping the GMH V6s cool in Hiluxs (89 model0?

I currently run a 4 core with 1.3bar cap and 2 10" thermos.

What other radiator options are out there- surely someone has found a 5 core option or similar that fits between the rails?

Is there a decent heavily constructed unit that is less prone to splitting the top tank join like seems to happen on Hiluxs a lot?

And what about fans- does any Australian importer bring in Derale reverse rotation mechanical fans or are there other sources out there for mechanical reverse fans other than ordering from the USA myself.
I know theres an Australian mechanical fan kit out there but seems verry ex$pensive for what it and what you get ;) ........

Any help much appreciated guys.

IMO 2x 10 inch thermos will not cool enough. I had ongoing cooling problems when I first put a VP V6 into my old D21 Navara. I experimented with 16 inch thermos, shrouds etc, etc, all to no avail. I even fitted a 351 Falcon radiator and it still overheated on a hot day. Enter AU Falcon twin thermos. If you've got the space, get them. They move an incredible amount of air and even with just one of them on, it's almost all you'll need. From memory you'll need about 130mm space and they are cheap on Ebay.

3 core standard diesel Hilux has done me for the last 8 years with ICE thermo fan and proper shroud.

PS:

It really helps to remember to turn the fan back on after using the bypass switch in river crossing.

Also I have been scalded and cooked the motor at least 5 times, but no damage, so I guess no radiator is OK for short trips!

I use the standard Hilux diesel ln106 radiator with a 11 blade viscous hub engine driven fan
It is great in W.A.s 40 plus temperatures
