I can't reccoomend this event highly enough...

We took our 12yo daughter and she had more fun than us i think! It is an absolute ripper of a comp for families as there is plenty to keep the kids entertained so you don't have to put up with "Are we there yet???".
Plenty of good driving and plenty of fun both during the day and around the communal camp fire aswell.
If you're looking for a great, fun, outdoors activity over easter then look no further.

Oh and the companies great ;) , see you there  ....

As one of the organising partners I promise there to be good puzzles and interesting distractions to this years race.

You will cover the whole Little Desert and get an insight into the history of the area. Bring your thinking caps as there will be more convoluted puzzles for the thinker and the lateral minded...

Road blocks with alternate routes will be available and will give the adventurous more points. You just have to chose the right way to go....

Puzzles, navigation and secrets will be harder to complete than before :!:

I was talking with the guys setting up today and it was 45 degrees - Neither of them had air cond . Bummer. Anyway the weather is cooling in time and it would be great to see a good turn out in reward for the heat stroke...

They told me about their ideas and what they found - you are in for a hoot!

The long drive from Sydney to Little desert in VIC was well worth it.We clocked up about 3000 klm over 4 days. The Amazing race as Rudi calls it certainly is great fun and quite challenging to figure out the tasks given each day. With nearly 500 competition kilometers over 3 days of quick driving on desert sandy tracks was great fun.A total of 22 hours, you certainly get your monies worth and it is also quite physical as there were a lot of walking looking for Task cards, etc. The graze marks on the top of my head is testomy of how high we bounced on several occassions, but never of course going faster than 60 kmh. Also the fine spray of water coming from a hole in our radiator indicates that our 4wd also felt the tough conditions over thee days. Best of all we finished 3rd. As usual, the 4wd competitors all socialised before ,during and after the event. Barb and I will certainly be back in 2009 and hopefully talk a few more NSW gang to be crazy enough to drive the distance to have a great weekend.
Thanks to Rudi, Alan and Peter,Silverstone tyres and other sponsors for running a great event. Thanks to all other competitors who made us so welcome and gave a few tips here and there.
It certainly is a great event for families. The kids eyesight is sharper than most of us adults,so finding task cards they certaily did well.

As i said we had a great weekend. I've never been through that sort of country so even aside from the competition i really enjoyed the driving! Long trip though, even from Melbourne, so was an expensive weekend. At one point we calculated our fuel consumption to around the 4.5km/L mark.

We held onto second place through friday and saturday but it all fell apart sunday and we dropped two places (we got half way down the macdonald highway before i realised where the bunkers were ). Ended up missing out on 3rd by one point! (Rest assured Brian And Barb, we'll be practicing botche all year - watch out!)

Despite some pretty desperado driving to make up for poor nav and observation (and for fun ) the patrol came out unscathed apart from a puncture (not sure how much damage 300km of highway driving @ 8psi did :?) and some golf-ball damage to the passenger side door.

Thanks to rudi and allan and anyone else involved for setting up (al, i'll have to check out your 60 a bit better next time!). Thanks peter for the entertainment, roast and 'lolly water' and of course silverstone for their input. Thanks and congrats to all the other competitors, great bunch to spend the weekend with
