4 Door Rubicon - LOVE IT!

Was burning up the beach in one of these at the weekend, got it stuck pretty bad a couple of times...

Twin lockers, front and rear ARB bars, winch the whole business....

The key in the ignition alarm thing is pissing me off...

How do I remove it?

Also the seatbelt thing?

Is there other mods to switch traction control off permanently?

The computer didnt seem to want me to take charge, it hates me driving...

I had a switch installed on the dash to disable the interior light & beep so i don't have to muck around with fuses anymore.

surely someone has found the beepin fawkin thing and unplugged it?

Also the Traction Control, even when switched off wants to still fawk with the car, get it into a full power slide with traction off and it cuts engine power

yeah but i needed to switch off the interior light too for when i take the doors off. If you disable the beep then your jeep won't beep when the check engine light comes on, when you leave the lights on or when it's hungry :)

cheers

the v6 shouldn't be gutless its got better output than the I6 in the current wrangler

it might be the ratios limiting your hooning requirements

Until the american market has a need for rubicon in crd it won't happen

you miht get a 5.7l hemi one though then you wouldn't have any power issues

CRD Rubicon is already available in Europe. Jeep are hoping to have it here this year. The problem appears to be making enough to keep up with demand.

is there any chance of like a 3-4L V6 diesel?

Are the diesel much more expensive than the petrol?

now this is the one I love

4wheeldrive & sport utility mag just did a 2wd to 4wd JK 4 door buildup. It actually works out almost as cheap as buying a rubicon version but they ended up with Dana 60s, air lockers, Atlas t/case, 40” tyres and a long arm suspension and the cool Xenon flares

Yep very nice grimbo!

Just got back from the wandin 4X4 show and was on the jeep stand! Also a member of the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club and know a few high up at jeep!

Every person asked if the rubicon will come out in the deisel the answer is NO!

The deisel is 260 kw or somewhing so is apparently very responsive for a deisel and has a 2 stage turbo in it! Apparently works like a twin turbo! :?

ARB has a nice one with all it's bar work(That rear bar is a work of art! ) and some nice muds on it!

the Petrol motor is not gutless if you change the exhaust, I've done it and you gain 20%

the seat belt alarm can be dissabled as per the owners manual buy the PITA key alarm cannot .

the locker switch toggles - rear locker, then both - you can have rear only but not front only - they dissable if your speen goes over about 40kmh

the esp switch goes to a half off state with one push and if you stop in 4wd and press and hold it the dash will say "ESP OFF" - this is the best mode for soft sand otherwise the TC will bog you all the bloody time.

also check the JK forum for the ESP dissable switch mod & the locker override mod

with the ESP mods it kills off the ESP, traction control and abs - I've don this mod and now I can cutt sick without "Hal" interfering

Just do a search in the JK-forum.com

Ive done all the mods but the $300 to get rid of the 44 gallon drum muffler in the rear and a high flow v8 muffler under the floor on the passenger side below the B pillar was by far the best I've done - goes like a shower and sounds like my old rally car
