it depends on what you or your dad wants to do with the patrol.......

i think for good all round power and touqe id be going a fuel injected V8 but then if you dont want to worrie getting enginers certificate for V8 then go a patrol 6

but it still goes on what you want to do eg... rockcrawling , beach driving , playing in the mud , or touring................

And just swap all the bits over.

Try eagle auto spares

Alex,

You stated that you don't know much about 'mechanic stuff' yet in your profile you state you are a mechanic.

Your dad's got a 350 Chev and he doesn't know what's better.

He can't come to the PC.

You also spell the word know, as no, now and know. Are you deliberately doing this?

Maybe put student in your profile then. And speaking for experience, unless you want to get shafted by shitty work and poor pay, dont become a mechanic.

As for the poo-troll, weight up the cost of getting the SBC re-built Vs and engine swap. If the SBC is engineered/approved to be in the car, personally i would be keeping that. Re-build it, add some nice parts, and you have a pretty solid motor. There is so much available for these motors. Built properly, you will have plenty of hp under the skinny pedal.
Plus the sound

Layto....
