Hi Guys wanting some new steel cable for my highmount.
I am in Brisbane, QLD but if it is cheap enough the freight should not matter.

Who sells this cheaply :?:
ARB want $250 for 30m

Are there different quality and brands :?:

Are they all just steel or is there something that will not rust :?:

Already decided on steel and not plasma so please don't let this become another debate on that

Try boat and ship supply shops they often make cables to suit.

I thought about that and wasn't sure if it was the same stuff. I'll call some tomorrow.

Maybe ring beaver here in sydney and ask abotu pricing+freight or perhaps a distributer in brissy.

anywhere should be cheaper than arb, although theres is probly an off the shelf item, which is why we go there.

Cheers

Any of the lifting equipment mobs should be able to sort you out, they'll sell it to you by the meter with whatever ends you want on it. Just take in a sample of the current cable and they'll match it.

try ebay, i always see people selling steel winch cable for under 100 bucks at 30metres, when people buy a winch and go straight to plasma rope. Like this for instance http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WARN-9000lb-WINC ... dZViewItem

If you get it from a lifting place make sure you get it Gal so it handles the weather.
I didn't, but i clean mine and spray it with CRC or similar regulary and its ok so far.
You should be able to get 45m of 9mm cable on a highmount so don't but 30.
Cheers Dan

If you want a standard length you could ask on here for someone that has changed their cable to rope. ;)
