Outer Limits 4x4 Board

can any one please help with pulling a 11000 lb tmax winch apart just having problems with the motor any diags or advice would be appreciated

what part do you need to pull apart??
the motor is held on by the 2 bolt that run through the end cap to the frame side plate.

when i undid the two bolts and the screws around the top end the motor only comes out about 20-30 mm it seems to stop on the pos terminal
