Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey guys,
after the last few trips, i have decided that the front bumper bar should be raised also. As an inexperienced welder i am getting a local guy to weld up some 50mm steel raisers to lift up the bar. should look great, especially once i mount my new 240 XGT's on the front!!

Have also just had a look at ironman 2" suspension kit? what do you think? worth it?

I'm just about to put an Ironman 2in kit in mine. I think for the price you can't go wrong. And from what I've heard they seem to work pretty well. Not too harsh on the road which my poor back needs!

I've heard Iron man stuff is pretty cheap (in quality not just price) but have heard nothing about their zook stuf specifically.

I found them pretty harsh, OME Dakars are the go in medium duty

OME dakars? what are they worth? i am looking at not only improving suspension ride, but getting another 2" lift though springs? best way of achieving. already got 50mm body blocks in..

Last time I got a price about $90 fronts and $110 rears per pack so all up about $400 I think might be more now. ARB will bite you with all the extras such as bushes and U bolts etc etc so get these somewhere else. Shockies, go OME they are a bit exxy but probably worth it or you could go the Supercheap Gabriels Commodore wagon rears in the front and Hilux/hiace in the rear.

im running bluemax shocks in mine, and cofap before that - they are great.

just a note about the front and rear OME shocks that come with a 2 inch lift is that if you add on 2 inch longer shackles the shocks will reduce your travel. In the front with standard medium duty OME dakar springs I gained 3 inches in droop by swapping the shocks over. Havent measured the rear but i'm pretty sure they are inhibiting droop as well... just something to consider if you look at adding longer shackles...might be worth going down the longer shock options....I have VP commodore Munroe GT gas shocks in the front of mine...way too long for standard upper shock mount but are very long and valved a lot softer than the OMEs, but doesn't inhibit on road that 've noticed.

i spoke to kilsyth arb about two weeks ago.

OME springs are $78ea front and $107ea rear.

Swapped out my gabriel rear shocks for OMEs (to let my back repair) Even with standard shackles my 2 inch lifted medium duty dakar springs are limited. Droop looks to be limited by 2 inches or more by the OME shocks that are made for 2 inch dakar springs. Otherwise I havent got any complaints. The springs are great and the ome shocks are valved so much better than the gabriels (though shorter).
