Do you get any drive at all or is it as if stuck in neutral? It could be the shifter bush maybe?

Transfer Sheet / bush / whatever. Ebay (extremelimitsoffroad) and get the gearbox and steering biscuit at the same time. If you have a bodylift tell them when you order and you'll have to get a double thickness steering biscuit.

Couple things , have you removed detent ball from selector rods and has the shifter / gear shift jumped into the high low selector , if detent ball is still there this will lock it in position , try removing shifter and resetting selector forks with a large screwdriver , also check the bush for the gear shifter , Cheers Paul.

Hi.
It will be (99% will be) the shifter sheet.
You can replace this without removing the case from the car using the tips of your fingers and a flat blade screwdriver. My new shifter sheet cost $17 from Suzuki.
This is what it all looks like with the stick removed from inside the car:
Its a good idea to replace the gear oil once your done to remove any bits of the old shifter sheet.
Good luck!

No worries mate.
I have only had my zook for a few months and I found out about this the hard way. I was 400km from home, in the bush and stuck in neutral! After I got it home (on a trailer) I found out that I could have got it into gear in minutes if I had have known where to look.
The stick is held in by the metal disc under the little rubber boot. It is a bayonet fitting (Push down and turn it - it will pop out and then it will all make sense.)
Let us know how you go!

i tried today but didnt have much time so i didnt get much done. my car has carpet there and i have to take out the seats to take out the carpet so i didnt do it today. can i access it from underneath the car and reach up o push and twist, or does it have to be on top to get it and replace it?

It would be very difficult from underneath only - perhaps impossible.
You should not need to remove the seats and I can not see how the carpet is a problem??? (Unless you have a highly modified interior?) Once you remove the shifter knob, and then un-do the boot screws and slide the boot off the shifter shaft you should be ready for the job...

Mine did something similar yesterday.
Put it into 4Hi, then ran for about 10 mins, then tried to put it back into 2Hi and couldnt get it out of 4x4! could select 4low and neutral gear, but not 2hi, and was only by removing the boot, clearing out some gritty rubbish and fiddling the stick around alot i finally got it to clunk back into 2H.
It is intermittent, and i can select everything fine now?????
I have a spare bush (somewhere) when i got the kit (double sized rag joint for BL). I will ferret it out of the shed, and replace it.
It can only help!!!

Mine almost always has trouble going back into 2hi, I find if I throw it into reverse and go back a couple of feet it pops back in 2wd easily.
