Hi all. Just after a quick price check. I have to replace two of my tyres, and just wanted to check the price i've been quoted to make sure i'm not getting ripped.

$305 per tyre, fitted and balanced. MT Radial Baja Claws, 33x12.5 R15.

And for anybody thinking about commenting on getting 35's - don't waste your keypad. I already have two new 33's that came with the car, so 35's aren't an option ATM.

Cheers, Coxy

my best quote for claws so far (apparantly its a good price) is 35x12.5r15 $345 each fitted etc... 33s are generally about $20 cheaper so do the math...

sounds ok to me :D

I've got no idea what sort of mark up there is on tyres and stuff, but he said they retailed for $346 or some odd number around there.

Thanks for the replies people. Much appreciated!!

iv got a set of 33x11.5R16 on rims, done less than 5000km, still have the little extruded rubber dangly bits on the outer lugs. you can have all 4 and rims for $1100 average price per tire for a 16" rim is $375...

Never had MTZ, but i can think of afew tyres that should last side by side with a claw and come in abit cheaper.
I a purely stating for cheap option, I myself am happy to pay alot more for my creepy crawlers ;) (and prob get alot less ks)

if you really want them to wear out fast, find some 4wd area that has lots of shaly rocks, leave the tyres at full pressure and wheel the piss out of em :D
Then air down to 8 psi and drive home.... do this for a trip or two and your tyres will look ratshit :D

ben what size and how much tread are left because if they are 33s and with a decent amount of tread I may be interested for the right price

The back tyres weren't too bad before i went to the high country (just normal on-road wear), but after scrabbling up a few shaly hills in 2wd, they're an absolute mess. Chunks missing here and there, cuts everywhere, and that was at about 25psi. Just a bit old and brittle too i spose. Front tyres havent even got a mark on them, and they copped a bit of rock/mud action too.

I had a set of 37" Claws on one of my other cars, did a few km's on the bitumen, a few small offroad ventures, and they still had the webbings and a fair few of the nipples on them. IMHO, they're an awesome tyre.

33x12.5 R15s - MT Baja Radial Claws. Only done about 15,000 on them, plenty of tread, no cuts on chunks missing. I'll get out and measure the depth tomorrow. Got 4, and a BFG 33" spare too.
