31's Minimal lift

I'm about to pick up some 31 inch tyres for my SWB vit. What I have is bassically a 40mm lift via coil spacers. The rest of the suspension is stock. Judging from past posts i can expect some rubbing. Do any of you guys have a similar setup? Or is a bigger lift inevitable? The tyres are second hand, I dont really care about them so should I just let em rub?
Cheers guys

rubbing yes.
tyres, you're not worried.
but you're front guards won't be liking you very much.
you need more lift, either sus or BL or cut the guards.

Yeah Im thinking a 1 inch body lift. But in your opinion, is a 1 inch body lift worth it? Or should I get a bigger one while im at it? Also i plan to get new suspension kit, say Ironman or OME, with the coil spacers left in.
Cheers

any time you go higher you lift ur center of gravity, so you want to stay as low as you can for stability. if a 1" kit will clear ur rubber then why go a 2" unless you need it for tuck?
work out what mods ur gonna do, if ur suspension work will mean the rubber clears then don't do the bodylift. on the flipside, the suspension work could mean it flex's better and scrubs more

all depends on what ur doing and how far u are willing to go.
body lift is a good cheap way of clearing larger tyres when you can't afford to or don't want to cut ur guards. if you can, get offset rims and flares so your width starts to make up for the height.

i have a swb vit.
with 3" suspension, i wasn't able to run 31"s on the front of my vit.
the 31"s were on 15x8 steels rims with 3" bs.
i had to trim the back of the front guards a little.

The rims I'm getting are F100 rims 15x8 I believe, do you know what the offset is like? As stumped said, I do want to keep it as low as possible while still clearing the rubber. I can put up with a bit of rubbing if i have too, but when you say trim back the guards what exactly does that entail? Does anyone have pics of trimmed guards?
Another side note: how does gearing and power feel with standard gear ratios, when you whack 31's on?
Thanks for the responses, cheers

with an angle grinder you can fit 33s with no lift

LJxtreem's Hum-vit
35mm spacers, no body lift, 33 12,5's on speedy 15X8" rims.
Lots of cutting, which I think was commenced with an axe.
Steve.

You cannot gain extra tyre clearance with a suspension lift alone without bump stop extensions unless the suspension is just naturally un-flexy. Sus lifts should be done to gain flex while B/L and cutting/hammering should be done to gain tyre clearance. (this coming from someone with bump stop extensions and uncut gaurds lol)

That was a cool car. The simplicity, no gears, no lockers (just welded), no twin batteries, no fridge, no class, just lots of booty fab style.

just make sure you flex it to measure the rub too - otherwise you might be risking cv's and axles if you take a big hit offroad...
oh and that vit looks awesome =)

Nice, I guess there is hope, if you managed to fit 33's on with no lift! Would you say the vehicle is more capable now? I have no intention of selling the vehicle, so I think I might as well cut the bitch.
Could anyone show me pics of bump stops?
Cheers guys, this is exactly the info i was after!!
