4runner springs + shocks how much ?

overdue for some new springs and shocks for our 1992 forerunner
have come across a set of 2 x 2" lifted rear springs, and 4 rancho5000's
for about $400 secondhand in good nick is this a decent price and will it help onroad handling as its the mrs car so i have to convince her it will.
i assume i have to get the torsion bars wound up a bit to suit.
