Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Nothing is ever as straight forward as it seems, I bought a second hand Turbo Dynamics setup for my LWB TD42 GQ and started fitting it up last night.

All was going well got the extractors of pretty easily and cleaned everything up, fitted up the manifold and all was looking good. Went to sit the turbo on and it was hitting on my second battery and stupid vacum pipe stuff on passengers side guard. Removed this stuff and sat turbo in place, all good, fed dump pipe into place.

It looks like the Air Con pipes are going to run very close to the turbo and dump pipe. Do others have this issue? or have they been modified in some way? I have bent mine a bit to get them away but they are still pretty close. Not sure how much they will get effected or if its a problem, must be lots of other High mounts out there with the same?

I priced gettin mine re-routed, it was a terrifying $.

wait and try it.

Hi mate, my air con pipe runs close to the turbo and haven't had any issues yet. As for the vacume hoses i cut and shortened some pipes and lengthened others.

Thanks Den, where did you get that foil stuff that is over your Air Con pipe?

I does run very close with this hose touching the pipe as can be seen in the pic. But this turbo has been on for nearly 100,000kms and no sign of damage.

It has allways been on it, and aircon joint should have it.

Another way is to leave your standard headers on and run a J pipe out of the headers. It bolts up to the flange where the exhaust meets the header goes down and then comes up (in the letter J.) , This can be modded to move the turbo further forward from the firewall. Some of the aftermarket cast iron headers for high mounts and the steel extractors tend to put the turbo further to the firewall.

Well Ive had it running and gone for a quick spin, all good, was a bit noisy without the exhaust but thats to be expected .

Have shifted the vacum stuff, modified with a plate shifting existing stuff further away and then modify hoses to suit.

Will make up another heat guard to protect the A/C stuff and fuel line a bit better and hook up the exhaust.
