ARB compressor or endless

Well ive got a decision to make, i want decent onboard air in my zook, so i have two choices.
First is do i just use the new ARB compressor that i got, take it out of its box, mount it in engine bay, connect it up to airtank etc...
Or, do i convert the aircon compressor that is on the G16B that im about to fit to zook and use that.
Whatcha reckon, is the new ARB compressor 'all that'?

ARB alright for pumping stuff up, but tops for lockers.
Endless air set, awesome for pumping stuff up. But more piss farting around to get airlockers.

i set up an A/C compressor in my zook and i highly recommend it. one point to make is the size of the tank. i have a 19 litre tank and think its a little bit too big i think the ideal size would be 10 to 15 litre. any smaller and the compressor cycles too often. bigger and it runs for too long trying to keep up.
and use some hi temp flexible hose out of the compressor. standard air hose and the heat will kill it real quick. any other info about setting it up just ask me.

No worries thanks for replys, i think i will convert the air compressor. I made my rear bar from RHS and made it airtight, specifically for using as an air tank, so i will use that.

hi guys probably a stupid question but if you use an A/C compressor, are you using the existing and doing away with A/C or are you adding another compressor to the system. I like the idea of continuous air but i also like my air con getting to and from destination

Most people just do without the air con - you can't run air con and 'endless' air from the same compressor. (actually i reckon you could with a complex system of valves, bellows, pulleys and levers

).
Space constraints are your only concern when it comes to mounting a second compressor.

You might be slightly disappointed with the performance of the G16B compressor, I'd be surprised if they deliver the 8-9CFM of an Endless or York, and there's always the durability question in regards to oiling.
I;m going to try to figure out how to squeeze a york on the side of my 660, but I've set up an endless on a G13BB and it's untouchable.
I'd never bother with an electric compressor.

G16B one works great. been running it for a year so far.
going from 5-10psi up to 25 is only 30 secs or so. no tank in mine yet.

Suzuki Jimny (early) It's basically a 1.3 sierra motor with a coil pack Baleno cylinder head on it.
I had to make a mounting bracket for both the endless and a AU falcon PS pump. It was a PITA but came up a treat.

Well i have a choice of a number of different aircon compressors sitting around that come out of different trucks and cars, and since im not going to be running power steering i can remove the power steer pump off the engine, so with both the small compressor and steer pump gone there should be lots more room. I reckon the compressor i got from a XF falcon might do the trick nicely.

u going to run a tank? or straight from pump for now?
if i were u go the g16b one for now and even fit some fittings in there so if u have to change pump then it is easy.

If you have that much room, make sure you go to a York. (210?) Piston compressor. These were used on a lot of X series V8's, don't think they went onto 6's though. these have a sump and will work forever as an air compressor, happily spitting out 8-9CFM all day. tHese are the gold standard - they can't be beaten for reliability.
I run one in my G wagen it's worked as a compressor for about 7 years without a problem and has aired up many many tyres.

go endless ( i.e. mechanical ), like most things in life - its a bit more effort up front but you will benefit down the track.
And on the York - six cylinder Valiants also used them - but that's almost ancient history.

Yeh i forgot about the york. I might pop down to the wreckers and grab one.
