Are we talking G52
petrol and diesel are both the same gearbox
You can either put your original transfer case back on or you can change the speedo drive and driven gear in the transfer case

They are the same shape box. Problem is the upper gears are different ratios.

Change the speedo drive gear on the end of the cable that goes into the transmission.

So do they all have the same teeth count on the output shaft gear. If not it will chew out the plastic gear.

AFAIK, the plastic cable gear is just a swap. As for the internal worm, I can't answer that.

ok this doesent make sence to me the only thing that could be altering the speedo is the drive in the gearbox the internal ratio of the box has no effect on the speedo your speedo is probably out because of the difference in diff ratios of the petrol and diesel

Yeah the lux speedo drive is in the back of the t/case if he put a petrol T/case in and used deisel diffs it will be diffrent. Just drop the rear drive flange off and the first housing off the back of the case and swap the steel gear on the output shaft and speedo drive from the original case. There is a small check ball don't drop it inside the case it "may be" a PITFA to get out if you do

Yeah, now I'm confused too, "reality check", I was thinking tacho.

Perhaps this is a wheel size or diff ratio issue.

Thanx for the info guys i changed the speedo gear in the back of the transfer that fixed the problem its running the petrol gearbox does anybody no if they are a stronger box or weaker than the diesel or the same and are the ratio's the same or slightly different
