I had not started it for about 6 months and the fuel gage was on E. I have put more fuel in but still wont go. I have tried to use the priming pump but nothing (note the priming pump does like a little can this be a problem) My 40 is in the middle of a rebuild and every time i have moved it, it has started first time and the last time it ran it did not stop due to lack of fuel. Can someone help me please

have you cracked the injectors while you use the priming pump?

no. I will try it tomorrow. when you say cracked the injectors, is that where you loosen off the injector lines from the injectors.

loosen half the injectors, then crank the starter motor till fuel comes out.
Tighten injectors up again and it should start. I never like using that little pump, it always makes a mess.

I did try to only loosen the injectors and i do know this does work but it didn't work for me. i did just try what was suggested above and success. i have another with starting and before anyone says that was the problem it was in the start position and not the stop when i had the fuel issue. The EDIC motor is now not working, when i got it started it was delaying in moving to the stop position now it wont move to the start position. I did find the relay and it is working, any suggestions.
And Thanks guys for your help so far.
Added I have done some reading and i am not sure if i have the correct relay

take the rod that connects the edic with the injector pump off (i take it off the injector end).
this should allow you to start ok.. but you will need to push the thing the rod was connected to towards the front of the car to stop the engine (or stall it in 4th)..
you should be fine to leave this rod off until you get your edic working again.
it'll just require a manual shutoff.

Get your auto sparky to fix it. Will cost f all and will work normal again. I have had to fix mine a couple of times.
