Has anyone done this?
In the middle of adding a turbo to my TB42 and think it would be a sensible addition.
Sensor type and In-Dash display? What have people used?
Any info welcome
cheers

Are you talking about an EGT?

the main reason is to monitor the temp of components exhaust side of the engine, i am assuming that the EGT is looking only at the temperature of the exhaust gases.
I think that the idea of mounting directly to the manifold would be looking at the temps of the manifold etc to make sure your not cooking it when you are giving it a bit of stick for extended times.
Not 100% sure of the set up, but i have heard it mentioned and looking at what other people have done
Does the EGT do the same?

EGT/pyro measure exhaust gas temp so you don't pour in to much fuel and melt pistons etc.
sensor is generally placed in manifold (not on it) or in dump pipe after turbo. the sensor needs to be in the gas flow.

so you want inlet temp senor by the sounds of it. If it tuned corrrctly and safe it is not really needed. If you use after market ecu you can wire it into one of its inputs and have display on you dash
