My chassis fabrications are almost done :D

I'd like to get the chassis and diffs/links sand blasted then painted. can anyone tell me if using POR15 is worth all the mucking around associated with using it? Are there any better/easier alternatives for coating it?

Mainly i want to just smarten it all up, but some stone rash protection would be good. i know POR sound like the ducks guts, but it also sounds like a royal PITA to use.

get it hot dip galvanised?

you need to re-tap every threaded hole afterwards is about the only downside.

Ha thats the funnay :D

I like the idea of galvanizing. I'm guessing that sandblasting is required prep for it, and would still have to be painted afterwards.

you can get it "acid bathed" by the galvanisers to remove rust. I think paint still has to be removed first for acid bath to be effective.

Paint afterwards comes down to personal preference.
