How to remove restrictors from S3 Stage 1 intake manifold?

G'day

I've recently purchased a S3 Stage 1 V8. Now i know they do have restrictors in the intake manifold, but i have no idea where in the manifold they may be or how hard they may be to remove. Any suggestions would help, before I start tearing things apart! Cheers.

They are in the top of the manifold, where the carb bolts on. They are pushed in, a spring circlip holds them in. They take a bit of pulling to get them out normally.

Chances are they are out by now (probably not what you wanted to hear).

I would love to see a picture of some, or, does anyone know how much they actually restrict the intake diameter by? I'm curious to compare to my LPG mixers which restrict the diameter by about 10mm or so - I've often wondered how much horsepower that costs me.............

from what i've read, stage 1 v8's were restricted to about 90 hp from the range rover set up equivalent to about about 130 hp so there is a big jump in power, i mean she already goes with all the low gearing, v8 and all :D

Dont think I have any here anymore, but they have only two holes about 12mm dia, so are very restrictive.

 Thats a lot more restrictive than what I'd imagined.
It would be a rarity to find some in place these days! It would make your day if you did - 40hp increase for free
