Hi all, I am contemplating of installing extractor for NM pajero 2000 model.once I fix my front bearing prob. this will be next . Anybody has done this mod yet .Is this bolt on straight forward to existing cat back? Eventually I will change my cat back ,for the mean time extractor first .I have a funny feeling my manifold has crack already (passenger side). every time I start from cold there is a hissing sound.Of course my questions . Any such brand: where to buy: how much: and ease of installing.
thanks

ompong,
Common opinion is that extractors don't really seem to gain much extra power from the paj. Full systems can give you some extra power, but it is usually at the expense of lower down torque - something the paj could do without, and certainly not great from an offroad point of view.

Thanks for your response i'll take that on board.with that cracked manifold what our fellow members done is to replace it with original from the wreckers.I might start shopping around on some wreckers. which model you reckon is best to get? I do not want to get one from NM again.Np should be okay! Mitshu should have rectified that problem on NP.
thanks

I have an NM and it had a cracked manifold. Fixed under dealer warranty after i purchased the vehicle. Guess what its cracked again. For the moment i put up with it. Will be installing extractors in the near future. Not sure if the NP units have the same issue im sure someone may chime in and assist.
Couldnt find an exhaust manifold local here in Melb at the time and the dealer struggled as well. Sourced one in Sydney and it cost apx $200.00 for it and that was second hand.
New i think there $500 per item. Not cheap.
Just get some extractors and be done with it. From what i hear wildcat do them for the Pajero.
On the other forum some members have had them fitted better down low and mid. The pipe work below the manifolds leading into the cat is quite restricted so it could do with better pipe work in this area.
In regards to the rest of the exhaust dont go to big i think that middle muffler is a killer in regards to performance its bloody huge.
Mine sounds like a vacume cleaner under load and i hate it.
