How much guard to trim??

Post by Nice_Surf »

How much guard will I need to trim to fit 285/75r16's as I'm only going for a 2" suspension lift and looking at 16x8" rims with a -25 offset and using the flexy flares I have lying around.
If I get the guard trimed and folded to the dotted line in the pic below will that be enough??

I would think that would be plenty, the back is normally more of a problem. I had 31x10.5s on 8" rims and they touched on the back guards with standard springs, 1" lift cured most of it, 2" was no problem. On the front only needed the ends of the plastic sill trimmed a little.
Yours would be a similar size I would think.
