Hi all

I need help this

Is it possible to install 1.8lt pistons into a 1.6 efi block? of course you would have to bore and hone the new bigger pistons into the block.

will I have to change the computer?
I have a standard computer at the moment.

Any problems can anyone think of in doing this?
Is it worth the time and expense?

Thanks in advance guys

What size is the current piston.
What size is the new piston.
What is the shape of top off old piston.
What is the shape of the top off the new piston , ie , flat , indented , for valve clearence
Is the location of the gudgeon pin the same , stroke length.
Will the new piston fit your conrod correctly.
Large ammounts of machining will cause the engine to slightly overheat or run hotter. While running hotter this could affect detonation of fuel or pinging under load.
Alarger capacity in the chamber would require head and cam work to allow the motor to breath properly , air fuel ratio , Cheers Paul.
