hey guys, have an auto surf that i was to chuck a 2" body lift into, just curious as to what the go is with the auto shifter? i know a manual shifter would just have the floorpan come up higher around it, but what would happen with an auto? will i need to mod it at all and what mods would i be looking at?

Not sure on the auto have never seen one, but if it's a linkage arrangement then mods to the linkage should be all that's required. Would pay to remove the console and have a look from top and bottom, that should give you an idea.

Cheers

The shifter plate comes up with the floor. Just be sure to unbolt the linkages before the lift. Once lifted, there should be enough adjustment in the elongated slots on the linkages to accommodate the lift. If not, it is n easy weld extension to the linkages.

Yeah what he said. The shifter is mounted to the floor, not the gearbox. There's a longish link from the floor to the gearbox, and at the gearbox end there should be some room for adjustment. That was the case with my prado, anyhow.

I just left it, did my 3" body lift on the surf, then adjusted the lever position after as the shifter was almost a gear out. 5 min job with a spanner on the linkage after you have finished. Heaps of adjustment room.
