It's a bastard hey. Full day job just to replace a $5 part. You might as well replace your clutch, surface flywheel and replace rear main seal whilst you've got your box out. It's not the sort of job you want to have to repeat.

Thanks guys l know l have to pull the box out but l was thinking l might have enough room to pull the bellhousing back far enough to get the fork out and change the bearing that way so it's easy to put the box back in rather than dropping it onto the ground.....

Thanks GQ Bear foe not being immature about the question.

Cheers Chris

I apologize if you took my post as being smart, immature or what ever, i was not trying to do so, i was however trying to answer your question quickly and being straight to the point.

As far as im aware, it is the most straight forward, and simplest method of doing so. By mucking around with bellhousings and trying to get enough clearance, your almost certain to cause yourself more pain than the time you will save.

GQ Bear is also on the money, you may as well pull the box out and do all of that so you know its done, and wont have to be touched again for some time.

Guys all done in just over 4 hrs, not as hard as l thought it would be doing it on the garage floor, just changed the bearing as the clutch was fine and if it goes not that much drama to pull it back out again....

Cheers for all your help Chris
