diff ratios

Post by Rampage »

hey guys, currently running standard gearing of a 4.2 TD wagon with 6" lift and 36 pedes and want to get the gearing back to standard! am i correct in saying that 4.6's would be the go and that would put me somewere in the ball part!

also who makes strong gear sets and what is the highest ratio that someone makes 4.8's maybe???

cheers

you can 4.6:1 which is slight lower than standard of 4.3:1 if you want slightly higher. I have 4.6s in mine on 35's and it revs a touch to high for my liking. next time i would go 4.3s and if low range isn't enough change the transfer gears.
Don't go the aftermarket gears. i smashed 2 sets of rears in 18 months :bad-words: and that wasn't been too hard on them. both failed on road not the dirt and hadn't been offroad for a while before hand
