Need to sell a 1988 HJ61 Wagon Turbo Diesel with 350 000km on the clock. It has bullbar, sidesteps and roofrack. 5 seats plus driver.
Average condition with excellent original motor and turbo.
Can you please tell me a good price to sell it for as I have had a few offers already and what is the demand for these nowadays.
All help would be appreciated.
Cheers

I own the same model but with winch, false rear floor/draws etc, so take an interest in selling prices. Have seen them for Sale in Adelaide from $5.5k to $8k what the seller eventually got who knows.
I don't know your target market up there, could you sell the vehicle to an overseas backpacker type. I have come across them a couple of times in our travels in 60 series cruisers as well as old holdens/falcons etc. unfortunately to them the difference between a petrol, standard diesel or Turbo is irrelevant, so you may not get any more for the Turbo.

I don't think the demand is that great these days for them. 80 series petrol and base model diesels can be had for 7-8k. Frankly i wouldn't pay more than 4-5k for it. Having said that some sucker might come along and pay 10 grand for it if you make it look pretty.
Depends largely on the condition too. 350k is starting to get long in the tooth. and the body is probably already rusting even if it's not visible. If it were super low k's and the gearbox/diffs etc were in good shape you'd get more.
Accessories don't make much difference. Pretty much every 60 on the market will have a steel bull bar, side steps etc.

They're not everywhere, but I have seen a 4.5 petrol 80 for 6 grand. bit muddy from use no doubt. that was a private sale here in newey.
Also seen a pov pack diesel at a car yard for 8 grand.
Someone on this board from newy i think also bought a pov pak for about 7 grand.
They certainly exist. Lets face it the earliest 80s are 18 year old trucks. they just aren't fetching the big dollars anymore. Plus the 200 is coming out soon. (if it isn't already)
