Are you sure the actual body isnt hitting the gearstick? Sounds like it to me.

You'll have to make the front and back of the gearshift hole about 25mm (each)bigger.

Did you take the gearstick out when u lifted it? My gearbox didnt align itself in neutral when i pulled it out, i had NO gears!

if in 1st have u rolled the car abit so the g'box moves the gears? maybe its just stuck alittle.

Is the clutch cable still intact?

Maybe.. I just reread the Q and its a Vitara not a Sierra so I might be wrong but check it out anyway.

Yep... extend the shift hole as want33s said... we had same deal with my X-90 (Vitara)

This seems to be a bit hit and miss, the majority of Vitara's I sold kits to haven't needed the actual tunnel cut. Most just need the steel ring around the boot trimmed out. Not to say it isn't the tunnel though.

Paul, you may have to either trim the tunnel or remove the levers and give them a slight bend it the required direction.

I had to cut *and* bend quite a bit... but I've heard this is just an issue with X-90 bodies
