perspex windows

does anyone know the legal situation about replacing the rear tailgate glass with perspex?

the glass is structural, it would be illegal

definately is ilegal to have perspex i had to replace mine with glass for safety cert to sell mine even though i bought it through a dealer like that

Its not Structural on all cars. But yes its still illegal.

I wouldn't run perspex anyway because of the way it breaks. If going plastic it may be worth looking at polycarbonate.

lexan is used for drag racing because it doesnt shatter, dont think lexan is legal for street cars either

anyone know where to get cheap perspex? or something similar?
i need to replace the windscreen on my boat..

I was in Bunnings in Orange the other day and I'm sure I saw some there.

there is a perspex place a few doors up from anaconda ;) on parramatta rd.
its next to the toyota dealer.
