All depends on what your plans are, different uses for the vehicle, require various levels of modification, adding a turbo will help, a common engine conversion is the 3rzfe 2.7L engine and 3.8L commodore engine, i prefer the v8 personally, other mods are diff ratio changes, suspension, gear box and transfer mods and the list go's on, like i said what are your plans?
hilux, V8, duals, RUF, hi steer, detroit front and rear lockers, 4.88's, 37" Boggers.

How do you go Turbo`ing and 85 model ??? It would of had to of done at least a few hundred thousand K`s.
I was thinking of Turbo`ing my 85 model ( approx 400,000 km ) but was advised not to do it on such a worn motor.

Any comments on Turbo`ing and old motor ?

Rebuild the motor at the same time or run low boost, an intercooler would help too.
