dont flame me if this has been covered a thousand times, i do recall seeing a post on this same problem but cannot locate it....

i have an 89 hilux, ARB air lockers front and back, both worked fine (i think) until i disconnected the air lines, and pulled the compressor and wiring harness out etc. (i only disconnected the line from the compressor side)
6 months later, i go to connect it all back up again, and the rear locker is leaking air out the breather line on the diff. could this just be a leak froma a line inside the diff housing? i have never pulled the diff apart to see how it all works.
im guessing im going to have to strip it down to get to the bottom of it??

Cheers!

sounds like the O rings on the carrier are worn, easy fix n cheap but you will have to remove the centre

Steve is right its possibly the O-rings in the centre. But before you pull it out. Take it for a drive and then try it again. I have seen them leak after sitting idle for a period of time. And just driving them will get them lubricated and sealed up again.

if oil comes backup the line then its the O ring but if air is comming out of the breawther also would mean o ring ....

drove around flicked it on and of a bunch of times seamed to resat it self never had a prob seince
