hey im seriously considerin runnin the new buggy on gas when its finished, what i wanted to no can you buy a lpg tank from a gas mob on its own or do u have to go thru all the bullshit, there is one listed on the apa site its a h66 and has a capacity of around 35 litres, would last more than a day of wheelin the motor is a v6 commy aswell. also you can hire fork lift bottles the smallest is a 15 kg and costs about 60 bux a year to hire, and both of these would be easy to fill up at the servo before u go wheelin. any other ideas?

Yes you can purchase a tank from a tank supplier.


best bet tho would be to contact the guys that re-certify tanks, they usually have a heap as backup tanks or know of what tanks are lying around unused.
Or get a tank from a wreckers and get it re-certified.

You can buy forklift tanks outright so the rental isnt an issue. Last forklift tank we bought was $320, holds 40lits of usable LPG.
If you want to go with the forklift tank idea, which is a smart idea too by the way..... take 2 tanks and keep the weight down yet have excelent fuel supply is a smart move, ...... contact a forklift specialist and get a couple of used tanks from them and have them re-certified.

i might have to ring sum forklift mobs, i rang kleenheat and forklift bottles can not be bout over here because people were no re certing there tanks, now its all done with the hire side of things, that law changed in 1995 so they tell me.

I've got 1 spare forky bottle...... but ya in for one hell of a drive !

I'm sure that the forklift "specialists" would be able to help ya out in some way.

found a mob over here thats sells new tanks , the smallest bottle they have is the 15kg, comes in at a whopping 175 bux, i might just grab 2 and have 1 for a spare
