Hi all,

My brother's been given a work ute, but being an apprentice he's been give the work's POS ute, in this case it's an old 1991 Hilux 2WD, but that's not the worst of it ;) there's no radio, so he's got himself a cheapie head unit and I'm planning on installing it tonight for him.

Haven't even looked at it, and I can't see it being too hard, but does anyone know where I can find a copy of the wiring diagram?

Cheers,
Ben

just experiment. The 3 power wires (battery, key, earth) should be fatter than all the speaker wires, just try various combinations of these 3.

Yeah figured it can't be too hard. I'm surprised it's even got speakers!

hope that works

basically there are only two types of plugs in toyotas since the late 80's, and the wiring is basically the same. the main difference is some have physically smaller plugs.

for what it's worth (10 bucks or so) you can get an adapter from super cheap. I just did this with an 80 series... a shit load easier and cleaner than splicing into the wires

Thanks for that, had a look at it tonight but didn't seem to correspond, but it's a mess back there, and there's nothing but stripped wires. In the end I CBF'd so I'll have another look on the weekend.
