Fark !!!!
He is a 3rd owner and bough teh car at 103000km, It is a Series one with now 187000, Number 1 piston blew and he is a mechanic by trade and knows lotsa people so is getting alot of trade.
After pricing various options he is getting a whole new Long Block, including new injectors ($400 each normally) and new turbo for $15k installed.
He is not computer savy and hence not to aware of the online information n the ZD30.
Have done searches for Val Davies on Patrol4x4 and here and cant find it. If possible can someone PM it to me. His mates at Nissan advised him also that Nissan just had 30,000 engines made for this issue globally and Nissan even showed him this on the computer system.
Bogged, Please don't give any smart cracked remarks and he is a long term mate and this isnt fun for anyone when it happens.

Appreciated Bogged.
I also meant to say it was a long motor. He is now retired and doesnt want to do it himself. Rather play on his MG's. Must say he was one of the mid 80's and 90's 4WD mechanics and never charged more like current specialised 4WD shops for top notch quality work.
BAck in the early 90's I was 4wdriving with him and he had lockers front and rear on his GQ on gas and it was great. Back then half of the current mods nevers existed .

so if the work has already been done, why call Nissan? once its out and changed, I wouldnt expect them to do chit about it... but worth a try I guess.

probably like they have never heard of a 3.0 blowing up
she probably left after getting 10000 phone calls a week, since her name and phone # has been sprawled across every 4b forum on earth..
