Longer rear leaves. anyone interested

went to carrol spring on the way home today and asked about a price for some longer rear springs. What im thinking of is some springs that are 50mm longer overall (25mm each side on the ctr bolt) with a 2nd military wrap leaf. they will have the same spring rate a stock springs
price quoted was $150 + GST for a set of 2.
should work well with longer shackles and with front pin moved forward 25mm it will leave diff in factory position.
price will be cheaper if we get more made while he has jig setup.
any one ????

Price is good, I recently paid $190 just for a pair of mains although mine were 3 inch lift as well. Were you looking at standard hieght or raised ?? At any rate shipping to Perth would kill the price

From what you describe are they like the "bonz" springs? Would they frieght them? All up cost would be good. As others said thats cheaper than what Ive been quoted before.

Yeah that $150 for a pair doesnt sound quite right to me... very cheap
Even if it was just for the main leaf, but then youd have to already have some 2" lifted packs just to use the 2nd, 3rd & 4th to get your lift out of it...

what would need to be done to fit them?? just a matter of re-drilling a hole?? i pick two inch extended shackles up this weekend so this might be a good oportunity to do the RUF and rears

ok ill try to answer all questions.
the price would be $165 ($150 + GST) for a pair. there will only be the main leaves and the 2nd leaf with a military wrap. the rest is up to you. Depending on how hard you want it will depend on how many leaves you add.
ill be getting some in a few weeks (when i get some cash up without the missus knowing)
How you fit them is up to you. Ill be re drilling the front hanger 25mm forward and up about 10 mm and with the extended shackles it should ride and flex better.
afaik maruti springs are the same.

cool I'm in B4T...who votes spring fitting day at Jayson's place!!!!
so how is this all gonna go down? do we call the manufacturer directly and order or do we let you know and you order in one big order?

just getting expressions of intrest ATM. Once i get some secrete cash together ill order a few sets and then sell them off to those that want them. Ill contact the spring place and ask them if they will take orders and when they get 5 then they make them?? That way im not gonna get caught up in the middle.

that price was just a quote. haven't had a chance to ring them this week as we been really busy at work (new employee didnt show up for work on his first day and we booked work for him) will ring them next week if i get a chance and ask for an exact price and might even order some.
If i get some i will be selling them to the locals first as dont get time to organise freight. they will be pick up only items and i might even do some installs for drinking money too.

havent bought any Wild Turkey Lately

Hey Jayson, I am building up a LWB chassis this week

and would like to move the rear shackle hangers back before I fit a motor and body.
So I need the springs ASAP.
If you could send me the details of the order and the springworks contact number, I'll ring them and arrange delivery and payment by credit card.
Cheers Jas.

just to let everyone know I wont be getting any springs for a while. I was just trying to determine if it would be worth while to get some. Moneys tight ATM so the springs will have to wait for a bit.
If you wanna get yourself some made then contact Carrol springs
1300 660 601
http://www.carrolls.com.au/
ask for suzuki sierra springs 25mm longer at each end.
