Hi just wondering if anyone would know if running a second fuel filter before the factory one will effect anything or not.
I have a pre filter off a 79series that i was thinking of plumbing in.
I dont want it to effect fuel flow (restriction) or anything like that.
also do you think that it would just be a waste of time doing it
Cheers

I use the cheap see through plastic inline ones before main unit.......no pressure issues and I can change a few of these before I change main one.

I have a CAVI/DELPHI filter assembly with the glass bowl. Filters are around $4 each compared to $36 for a Nissan or Fleetguard filter. Glass bowl makes it easy to look for water and grung. Been thinging of adding an electric pump near the tank to take the work off the lift pump in the IP.

i reckon the racor filter is the go and a lift pump at the tank. the racor has a 2 micron marine grade fitler init and a glass bowl with water drain in it

been looking a doing similar but on a ZD30, which does not line fuel line restriction one bit, so a fuel lift pump by the tank will be needed. but also you need a filter to protect the pump so its not a bad idea to fit 2nd filter on the tank side of the lift pump.
i've been told the nissan fuel filters are quite good, a second filter is only really handy for extending the life of the main filter if your unlucky enough to have a constantly crap fuel.
also if you looking at adding extra filter + pump you might want to look at doing an air removal system as well. (eg fass, airdog or a home made version)
