don't know where the hell to put this, so here seems the closest......

i have been looking for somewhere to download the software so that i can reset/play around with my GME UHF radio. I have the schematic for the cable, it plugs into the mic socket, but the software seems to be a bit more ellusive...

anybody know where to d/l it from?

you wont find it, i have been looking for years, the gme software is rare as rocking horse shit, unless you can find a dealer who will be nice enough to give it to you.
From my discussions with a few dealers the gme radios are pretty much usless for modding etc ne way, they have tried to mod a few radios to give extended tx and rx , but just end up with a dead radio.

the only gme models that are really programmable are the tx3600 and tx 7000 comercial models, the rest are fixed.

if you want a good radio for programming or mods get yourself a nice high power kenwood , like the tk-805d or tk-860 both are powerful and pretty compact.

I have a programmable 50w kenwood for the hilux but leave it at home most of the time as its a bit to chunky to mount in the dash.

When I bought my 3200 CTCSS(?) was still illegal, but that was about to change. I was told I could have CTCSS "added" once it became legal, which I presume is a re-programming thing?

jeeze, talk about dragging up old threads....

anyway, i found the software in the end, for just about every GME UHF, but the problem was the cable. I found many circuit diagrams, involving some chip in it, sounded like a bit much effort for the lack of things that i could change, so i didn't end up making it, but on that note, there is some guy on ebay atm selling the cable for about $65 each week.
