Jimny 2" Lift

Post by sirbob »

Hi all

I've been trying to find information about jimny lift kits from the major suppliers and have been struggling to get a clear opinion from any of them.

What i Want:
- Better articulation
- Improved ride
- Minimal "sway" issues when loaded up for camping

Currently i am look at either an OME setup from ARB, or Tough Dogs from TJM. However, i keep getting dodgey sales reps who try and tell me that i need castor correction, wheel alignments, adjustable panhard rods and gearbox spacers for what i consider a minimal lift.

What do you guys use? Do i need anything more than the basic shocks and springs?

freind of mine had one of the first jimnys to be done up, the tough suspension was very good at flexing and no real lean on road plus he only had 50mm lift so just springs and shocks plus it was fully decked out with draws and all the trimings.

No mods are needed. I have the ome kit. Love it. Most 2 inch kit are really 40mm too. Try www.jimny.se lots of jimny owners. Also with a 2 lift you can get a 30 with a little trimming in the guards. If your not handy with the tools go for a 28 inch tyre. Plus its legal too.

You don't need all the extras... go with the Tough Dog 2in lift kit, you can't go wrong. I had this in my Jimny before I went the big lift and it was brilliant.

It was then onsold to Daffy, and it's still kicking butt in her Jimny 5 years on. If you have any questions, flick an email to simon@toughdog.com.au - he will answer any questions you may have.
