Could be a new defective, wrong part number, a burr on the yoke, faulty install (happens to the best of us), etc.
I would swap it out and check those things while ya' got the yoke off...

You might need to put a speedy sleeve on the pinion, the old seal would have left a groove, when you put the new seal in it is probably not quite in the same spot as the old one, there pretty easy to install...also check your diff breather is not blocked

If the seal is of the type that consists of a metal ring with a rubber ring on the inside (like timing case oil seals and axle shaft oil seals), don't forget to put stag paste or silastic (I find stag is better) on the metal part of the seal that contacts the diff housing.

Give it a couple of days, it could just be oil from putting it together..Paul

As stated... Is the breather blocked or kinked?
If Toyota original type throw the valve away and extend.
