Hi guys can't find the rubber flare material any cheaper that $17 a meter in VIC does anybody know where l can buy it cheaper..

Yeah they want 19 per meter surely someone sells it cheaper....

i got enough to do a whole car jsst sitting at home give me a price. am in melb payed the rip off rate for it.

The clark rubber ones has a wire hole around the outer. With the wire inserted they hold shape well and dont sag! Comes down to the look you want$

TJM sell the bushranger stuff.. think theres enough for 2 cars in them. but cant be sure, mate gave me enough for my GQ, and did his, but he may have already had some.

I like the wire edge stuff, much better.

Some dudes are real tight and use garden edging from bunnings

I got enough to do the trol from Don Kyatts in Moorabbin for around $60-$70. It's the one with the wire hole. I used coat hanger wire. Still looses shape a bit, but not as bad as no wire.

I like the garden edging stuff. If i was to do it again i'd use this stuff

TIP: use washers or metal strip on screws. I didn't and some screws have pulled through rubber when it gets knocked around

The stuff with the wire may hold its shape but if you hit something and bend it, it will stay bent too!.

How do these things attach to the guard? From memory the metal flange that faces the wheel (that the flare would be flat up against) is only around 8mm wide. Do you just put lots of self tappers into that?

If you want a really inexpensive way, find yourself a tyre retreader and get a roll of outdated tread rubber. You can get it up to like 8"s or so... I got a full roll of a traction style truck tread for free. The only downside is that it is quite heavy compared to the thin flare stuff...

On ebay at the noment there is a place in Dandenong Vic ,Ambassador industrial is the name.Sell both the under edge fixing and side fixing in two widths.I have brought the under edge fixing wider profile at $8.50 per meter.They of course will post any were,or as I did as I live not that far away picked it up.The only minor hitch is they only sell in 10 mtr rolls.It is a good heavy cross section.

id say you and i use the same shop here in caboolture they want $19 a metre but i love there prices up there they are always so much cheaper than the other stores but shhhhh dont tell them

the proper flair stuff isn't wide enough for my rig either.

Not sure if this is a concern for you guys, but pretty sure that the garden edging stuff would be illegal, due to the sharp edges.

I have seen the garden edging used with the trim stuff from around the door on the outside edge. Looked ok if you need extra wide flare.

I bought the same stuff as the Bushranger and Clark Rubber flexy flares from the Queensland Diesel Spares in Brisbane. I bought 6 meters for $63, so works out to be $10.50/meter.

It has the hole in the edge for inserting wire, it measures 95mm which 65mm protruces from your guards and 23mm goes under your guards.
