External thermostat housing

Post by PJ.zook »

Does anyone know if you can get an external thermostat housing for cars, and is it ok to use in a car in place of the original thermostat, say if you cut the upper radiator hose and fitted it inbetween after removing the original thermostat?

I've heard of using two thermostat housings bolted together - as long as you can get a decent seal I can't see why it wouldn't work. I'm considering doing it myself. :)
