Hey guys..

picked up this rollbar a week ago got round to throwing it on this arv, and i just wanted to get other opinions on wether its too high above roof or not? i no the whole crush zone will be good as is but just other opinions would help :armsup: you no how it is :D

Looks fine at that height Chris but if it just sits on the alloy tray, don't expect it to save anything if the worst should happen.

Yeh i no but it worked on the previous alloy tray. Its beter than nothing like i had i guess and i try not to tip it over, i think i shall just leave it.

leave it the hight it is and put a steel subframe under the alloy tray.

cheers dave..well it is roofin screwed down :D atm till tomorrow when i head up to my mates, hes got me some close to 10mm plate cut off wheels the lot and goin to bolt her down properly then re fit the boxes for work. that will be interesting making them not hit the bar :bad-words: Hope the roof screws are enuf for the highway :rofl:

I was gunna say leave it as it's a 50/50 thing anyway. Looks good and not too high, but probably higher than you'd make it yourself.

Considering that you're gunna be welding mounting plates, etc. then i'd cut it down while i'm at it. I've seen guys get caught out cos they're too high to get under low and fallen branches, etc. That's one reason why i sold my roofracks. If you mount lights on top then they're gunna be even more prone than roof lights already are.

If and when i get round to roof lights they wil be a flip down ordeal cuz im a hardout :D

hey and the rollbar already has 130x130x5mm plate bases. I just need to make bottoms cuz sloshy the prick used em on his new one :bad-words: :D

I'd put some diagonal braces in the main loop if they're not already there (dont appear to be from the photo)
