Has x-links front and rear has made the on road handling and drivability unreal.antt wrote:looks good sam. cruiser diffs with xlink in the front?
and is the rotary buggy in the background getting a vit front clip now?
I always wondered what it would be like with X-links at both ends. It looks nice. Any more pics and details? How high has the suspension lifted it?OVERKILL ENG wrote: Has x-links front and rear has made the on road handling and drivability unreal.

Maybe its you its not happy withSquik wrote:How's the auto box handling it all? Mine hunts up and down like mad... it's not happy with the 31s...
Are you guys locking the X-Links out on Road?OVERKILL ENG wrote:Has x-links front and rear has made the on road handling and drivability unreal.antt wrote:looks good sam. cruiser diffs with xlink in the front?

Is it running Sway Bars?
Did Sean have that front on at Grafton?
Everyone else complains about the onroad handling of the Xlink if its not locked out. What have you guys done or not done to make this thing drive so great on road?OVERKILL ENG wrote: The x-links aren't locked out for the road and no swaybars.

Heavy rate coils, light weight car? Then again the wider diffs would then place more leverage on the springs possibly making it worse.RUFF wrote:Everyone else complains about the onroad handling of the Xlink if its not locked out. Using the right spring rate and not using a spring that is too long for the aplication. And also we spend lot of time getting all the steering geometry spot on (castor, pan hard angles etc).RUFF wrote:Everyone else complains about the onroad handling of the Xlink if its not locked out. Yes on both counts.fordy1 wrote:so is it road legal? ( aus or nsw ) and can you do this to a XL7 wagon?
So your not using the same coils/rates you usually supply on zook coil conversions?OVERKILL ENG wrote:Using the right spring rate and not using a spring that is too long for the aplication. We changed the rear cause the standard setup is crap and we wanted the truck to be balanced front to rear which also adds to the drivability.
SAM
Now if we could supply our own axles and buy the rest of the components as a kit that would beOVERKILL ENG wrote:Using the right spring rate and not using a spring that is too long for the aplication. I can see that with all the geometry correct it should drive much better than any 6" lifted 80 or Patrol with the Xlink. An XLink on its own doesnt fix any of the geometry problems the 80 or Patrol get when lifted.
